A PUPPY VISIT

Well, Tom has had his first rehab session today and was very encouraged.  He has actually walked to the bathroom without a walker so he is getting stronger by the minute.  The facility is exactly 2 miles door to door so it's so easy for me to go by and then go and do other things.

I took the puppies for their first visit with Tom in 5 weeks.  They remembered him and were not shy at all.  We were watching the end of a movie and Finley snuggled up against Tom's leg and went to sleep (yes we can take the dogs in his room).  In fact, the facility has a dachshund that rides around on the med cart!  I asked Tom if anyone else there was his age, he said "only the nurses"!  What is kind of nice about this place is that the nurses actually wear all white - so you know who they are.

The food and food choices are not that great so I'll probably be taking food to Tom more often than not.  There is a dining room he can go to or they will bring the food to his room.

Other than the TV not being HD, Tom has cable with the Golf Channel and the Food Network Channel so he's in pretty good shape.  He loves movies but they don't have HBO or Cinemax so he'll have to wait until he comes home to get those channels again.

I'm looking forward to getting back to church tomorrow, I'll probably still have time to see Tom beforehand as the dogs have not learned that it's OK to sleep past 5 a.m. on the weekends!
