A SHOWER

Probably the highlight today was that Tom got to take a shower!  He had to walk all the way into the bathroom to get to it and he did great.

Right after I posted this morning, Tom's PCP came in.  He was very pleased with Tom's progress also.  However, the high white blood cell count led him to order a CT scan this afternoon.  That required Tom to have to drink 32 oz. of stuff so they could do a contrast CT.  The doctor is wondering if there is still some pocket of infection in Tom's abdomen.  I'm thankful they decided to do the scan just to see what all is going on but I am concerned at what they might find and if the treatment for it will upset the kidney and liver progress.  So, we will pray that they do find the infection source and can take care of it easily.

As is usually the case, PT showed up at the same time the radiology folks came to get Tom.  So, for his PT session, he had to walk from his bed, out of the room and to the bed from radiology.  He is really doing well getting around.

I don't have any idea when we will get the CT scan results.  Now that it is the weekend - who knows?  So, we'll have to be patient and see what happens.
