Pressers off

The good news for this morning is that they have weaned Tom off the pressers that were keeping his BP up. Right now his BP is 108/50. A little low but still ok. His heart rate is up in the low 80's but the doc said that was ok too. They continue to "tube feed" Tom and he is tolerating that well. It has some protein so hopefully that will help keep the fluid in his bloodstream instead of leaking out into his tissue. I asked about giving him albumin to help that too since he is still so puffy, maybe they will consider it. His WBC is 16 and his Creatinine is 1.4 so that's pretty good. His weight is high even though the one leg has lost a lot of fluid out of the tissue. The rest of his body is holding on to fluid. Apparently I missed most of the doctors visits but it sounds like there are no major plans or changes scheduled for today. So Tom will continue to sleep and heal. I did get a better look at his wound, it looks like the incision is about 8" across his thigh. He's not going to be too happy with that battle scar! The sponges they have in it as part of the wound vac are black so it looks scary. The are still planning to reassess it again tomorrow. More later.
