GOING HOME TODAY

Tom just called and said they are going to let him go home today!  I Trust You Jesus . . . Praise the Lord!

Yesterday Dr. Rutland had told us that he wanted Tom to stay on this new antibiotic for 10 days.  They started it on New Years Day.  If it was not approved for Tom to receive this medication at home, he would have to stay in the hospital 5 more days.  Tom did not understand this part of the conversation yesterday so when I was re-stating it for Dr. Dunn this morning, Tom got VERY upset.

I came on into work and called our Blue Cross Social Worker - who is so wonderful - she said that the medication is very expensive, but they can most times find a way to get it at home.  I had placed a call to our Rx company and was on-hold with them when Tom called to say they had the approvals.

Tom is in the process of moving from mad to glad.

Dr. Rutland probably won't be by until lunch time to do his piece of the discharge paperwork.  Then the hospital staff has to do theirs so I'm sure it will be this evening sometime before we get home.

I'll probably not post again until later this weekend.  It's usually very busy when Tom gets home.
