FOLLOW UP DOCTOR'S APPT

Tom had his first follow up appointment with his PCP today.  It is all good!  Kidneys are normal, blood pressure is great.  No liver numbers though.  When I left, Tom was on his way to the lab so they could draw (more) blood to run liver enzyme tests and iron level tests.  Apparently Tom's red blood cell count is low, so that will be something he needs to work on (probably with an iron supplement and nutrition).  The doctor thought Tom looked really good . . . still pale but not as yellow!

Overall, Tom is doing great.  He is getting around at home well.  Four Home Health reps have been to the house so far.  The first was on Saturday for vitals and an assessment.  Sunday the PT rep came out to do his assessment.  Yesterday a rep came out to draw blood and the OT (Occupational Therapist) arrived to do her assessment.  It turns out that Tom does not need OT.  Tomorrow the PT rep comes back!

My parents are here and are taking good care of Tom.  They were responsible for getting Tom to the doctor and back home today (I met them there).  The puppies are getting lots of love and attention from their grandparents (and are giving it back).

Our prayer is that Tom will continue to get stronger, that his red blood cell count will go up and the results from his liver enzyme test will show lots of improvement.
